In collaboration with WIFTA, For the Culture Festival aims to create an inclusive platform that showcases local talent, uplifts Black-owned businesses, and sparks meaningful conversations around important social issues. As part of this partnership, For the Culture Festival will feature the screening of the impactful documentary “Trafficked: Survivor Stories,” directed by Michael ‘Boogie’ Pinckney and co-executive produced by Robyn Watson, followed by a thought-provoking conversation with the film’s director, and esteemed speakers representing prominent organizations dedicated to combating sex trafficking. We love providing wonderful opportunities for WIFTA members to support woman-owned businesses that promotes culture and diversity in the Atlanta community.  We’re also excited to share a film that we hope will continue the conversation about the social implications of sex trafficking and what we can do to help combat it.

Chantelle Morgan and Reba Liddy, the festival’s organizers, emphasized the significance of the film screening and the creation of a community festival to uplift and inspire. They believe that through collective efforts, these events can spark change and encourage meaningful conversations about the challenges faced by marginalized communities.

“Partnering with Women in Film & Television Atlanta amplifies our mission to create a festival that not only entertains but also educates and inspires,” said Chantelle Morgan, Co-Founder of Alinone Weddings & Events. “We are excited to partner with WIFTA to shine a light on important stories and bring our community together in celebration of Juneteenth.”

In addition to the compelling film screening and engaging panel discussion, For the Culture Festival offers a dynamic lineup of entertainment, including live performances by local artists, delicious cuisine from Black-owned restaurants, and interactive activities for attendees of all ages. The festival begins at 4:30 p.m. and is a day filled with joy, empowerment, and cultural appreciation.

As part of their commitment to supporting the community, For the Culture Festival will donate 25% of the ticket proceeds to two local causes that directly impact the black community. This includes funding prostate cancer research and contributing to the fight against sex trafficking.
